Middle School
At Mother Catherine Academy, our Middle School teachers all hold firmly to a shared philosophy of education rooted in the belief that all of our students have an inherent worth and personal dignity, unique talents and skills, their own personalities, and distinct preferences for learning. As teachers, we have an exceptional opportunity to enter into the moment and guide the growth and development of each child we are privileged to instruct, and with that opportunity, comes tremendous responsibility to reach and assist each child in achieving his or her academic potential.
Our Middle School curriculum consists of core subjects of Math, Reading, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Religion and is taught by a team of dedicated and experienced teachers each one of whom has more than ten years of teaching experience in his or her field of instruction. The Middle School curriculum is enhanced by special subjects including P.E., Art, Music, Computer, STEM/Robotics Lab, Chorus, Band, Spanish and Strings.
Our goal in Middle School is to challenge each student to develop effective personal responsibility in his or her academic success; to learn efficient organization in time and operational management; and to promote ever increasing critical thinking skills which are designed to prepare them to succeed in the higher learning environments of high school and college.
