At the direction of Gov. Larry Hogan and the Maryland Dept. of Education during the press conference earlier today, school will be closed effective until April 24th . We will post any updates as we have them to our website and Facebook. Parents and guardians will receive emails and texts as well.
Below are some important announcements/updates:
We at MCA continue to pray for all our families and staff during this time of social distancing in an effort to stop the spread of this virus.
These past few weeks, MCA faculty and staff have been preparing for multiple scenarios in the event that the closure period gets extended beyond March 27th so that we are prepared to provide our students and families with a continuous learning environment and to assist our students to be prepared for the next level of education.
Prior to this current period of closure (3/16-3/27), MCA students were provided with materials as well as the necessary textbooks in order to continue their learning environment that would carry them through the 27th. This material is to be completed to the best of your ability and returned to the school (see below) as it will be graded accordingly to close out the 3rd quarter.
Teachers are now finalizing preparations for what we call Phase 2 of this process if it becomes necessary. Each teacher will contact their families directly as to how they will proceed with their learning environments as it will look a little different for the varying grade levels. We are treating both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this process as compulsory education and we ask for everyone's full support in assisting their child(ren) and the staff in meeting this goal.
In order to facilitate this process, one representative for each family will need to come to the school in order to pick up and drop-off the needed textbooks, materials, etc. (see schedule below).
f**Families will be able to drop-off the completed work from Phase 1 (started 3/16) as well as pick up any needed textbooks, packets, work, materials according to the following schedule:
We will be using a 'drive-through' process where you will use the car rider line pattern in/out and can drive up to the front door (don't leave your car) and we will gather your student's completed materials and bring out the Phase 2 work to you as well as collect all completed work for grading.
The best means of communication with teachers/staff is through e-mail. Please do not call the school as we may not get the message. If you require assistance with lessons, homework, etc., please contact that appropriate teacher directly. If you are having technical difficulties and need assistance, please contact Mrs. Johnson. If you have a school or policy related question, please contact:
We are all in this together and we are here to help you and your children continue their education process. Pray for each other!
